Discover Tribulus Terrestris for Energy, Stamina, And Libido

Tribulus Terrestis is mentioned quite a bit throughout the pages of this site as one of the natural ways to boost testosterone.

Like many herbs, tribulus terrestis has been used for a long time, but has only recently caught on in the West.

Many people place their faith in pharmaceutical drugs to boost testosterone, but on the other hand, some people also harbor a distrust of pharmaceuticals and, therefore, look for natural alternatives to increase testosterone.

For these people, they'd rather forego the potential side effects of pharmaceutical drugs and opt for a gentler means to increase levels of testosterone hormone.

The following article should not be inferred as an outright endorsement of tribulus terrestis, but more as a brief overview of its history and use for your edification.

Have you ever heard of tribulus terrestris? Not many people have.

This mystery plant bears its roots in China, India and Southeastern Europe but started showing up more in Western culture when it was shown to help Bulgarian bodybuilders.

The extract from the plant helped with the bodybuilders’ stamina and energy.

Once the proof was in the pudding so-to-speak more people began to pay attention to this herb.

Even more attention was lavished on tribulus terrestis after it was learned that it could help improve many problems that plague adult males and females today.

The active components are furostanol saponins (plant steroids). These saponins are derived from the leaf of the plant.

What is called Bulgarian Tribulus Terrestris is harvested from the leaf and is used to treat infertility, impotence and low libido in both men and women.

There are many synthetic drugs on the market that help with sexual dysfunction and stamina due to low levels of testosterone but some people prefer a natural alternative to an over the counter or prescription drug.

That’s where tribulus terrestis herb comes in.

There are three main groups of phytochemicals (plant chemicals) found in Bulgarian Tribulus Terrestris that have various functions. Dioscin, protodioscin and diosgenin are responsible for helping correct sexual dysfunction and also acts as a hormone balancer for women.

Sterols, the second group, are shown to help promote a healthy prostate.

And finally there are X steroidal saponins which seem to help the immune system work better demonstrating anti-viral and anti-bacterial effects.

So what’s the science behind this herbal extract? How does it work?

Tribulus terrestis naturally jumpstarts the body to increase production of luteinizing hormones (LH).

When males have an increase of LH, the LH will bind to receptors and stimulate synthesis and secretion of testosterone. The proper amount of testosterone is important.

Low levels of testosterone cause depression, fatigue, sexual dysfunction and strength loss. Many men think that this only happens with older men but a decline in testosterone levels can begin as early as thirty for some.

With that said increasing testosterone levels for a man with low testosterone levels can mean many marvelous things.

Sexual stamina is increased, bone density is shown to increase, lean muscle increases, fat decreases, and the overall mood is enhanced.

The benefits of this plant are many and no adverse effects are currently known of except possible upset stomach.

The uses for tribulus terrestis are many and continuing to pile up. With more and more people emphasizing natural substances for improving life quality this herbal remedy is worth investigating.
